Why are people leaving GitHub now?
What did I miss, why do I see so much posts about people leaving GitHub NOW?
- MS forcing AI
- the uptime is dropping
Interestingly, if you're in a EU timezone or near it, Github is normally pretty good. It's mostly affecting the Americans.
Three things, Reliability is gone. Hashimoto (Ghostty) just left two days ago, Copilot is being forced and downtime. I left last week and moved to a selfhosted git.
Their uptime sucks enough that it's a real problem and not just an annoyance.
