Are automated tests (Selenium) still relevant today?

I've been learning automated tests, using Selenium, but I'm wondering if it's a good idea to invest my time to build a stream to pay my bills for 5 years, giving me time to a long the way be reviewing and adapting myself to the new trends.

AI is around us, and even though AI is not perfect, it is trending and taking over a lot of skilled professionals space. I would like to listen experiences and thoughts, so I could review what I am doing is valuable enough, or maybe I am missing something, or eventually pivot my plan completely.
