Weekend Social: What personal chore did you automate recently?

Hello! This is another weekend social thread. In this thread, I ask you to share a personal chore that you automated recently. Particularly,

1. What task were you doing manually before?

2. How did you automate it (tools, scripts, devices)?

3. Is it still running smoothly or do you tinker with it often?

Made a bash script that calculates the current value of my home using the government published housing price index tables for my region and type of dwelling. Makes it easy to see if my loan-to-value has changed and if it might be worth requesting an appraisal to get my mortgage rate down.

Imho mortgage providers should do this automatically but that would go against their own interest. They only do it when house prices go down.

I used to sit for hours on the toilet trying to have a dump.

I decided I would automate a system to help me out.

I instructed chaptgpt to construct a python script linked to a theromometer and pressure sensor, managed by a raspberry pi, to alert me when I was time to go.

once a certain temperature and pressure is reached, the script alerts me with "I Want to Break Free" by Queen.

I then grab a book and sit on the toilet and let nature work its magic

On the negative side. I walk around with a thermometer and pressure sensor up my arse 24/7.

Honestly, I have saved so much time I can now shit and deploy 10 times a day.

I am earning a small fortune.
