Why does AWS Route53 price .click domains at only $3/year?

I noticed something odd while browsing AWS Route53’s domain pricing. Nearly all TLDs are in the $10–$50 range, but .click is listed at just $3/year—much lower than anything else they offer.

Here’s the pricing page (which links to the full PDF): https://aws.amazon.com/route53/pricing/#topic-0

I can't find any evidence that Amazon owns the .click TLD. Does anyone know why .click is priced so much lower than every other TLD?

Maybe the registry (https://uniregistry.link/launch-schedule/) is running a promotion. A .click domain is 1.80 USD first year on namecheap currently.

You get what you pay for. Even the name sounds a bit spammy (like xyz). "Vanity-plate" TLDs seem to have a lot less regulatory limits/caps - so don't be surprised if the annual rate fluctuates widely unlike the more stable TLDs (com, org, and net).

Always look at the 10 year cost of a domain. Add everything to cart that is interesting, crank the term up to 10 years then pick what seems the most reasonable.
