I had grown really tired of JavaScript employment. I love writing applications in JavaScript/TypeScript and continue to spend a significant portion of my personal time doing so, but I cannot stand JavaScript for work. I felt like I was constant surrounded by people who couldn't program, couldn't write emails, and really could function in any real capacity without copy and paste of familiar programming patterns.
Being laid off for 6 months was really stressful and I really began to double myself, but now I am in a different line of work and its so much better. Soon after joining this new line of work I was promoted into management of a software team.
