Why the quality improvement for the HN frontpage on the weekends

I've noticed that I enjoy reading HN sooooo much more on the weekends and that the quality of articles and resources is significantly better. My question is why?

I can think of a few likely factors/culprits:- fewer people participating- fewer people trying to karma farm- less "news" on the weekends- more "fun"/"interesting" on the weekends
