The Architects Paradox is an absolute must read IMO. It really challenges the way we think about software.
Architecture modernization is a must for everyone that works with legacy systems and modernization.
Something not new at all, but new to me is Computer Power and Human Reason - written way back in the 70s it still feels very relevant, and its interesting that they had pretty much the same conversations about AI back then as today.
I would recommend “Chip War” by Chris Miller. It’s not for learning tech skills, but provides an approachable history of the semiconductor industry from WWII to the present day AI boom. I think it provides good insights into how governments think about investment into the global semiconductor supply chain.
I've been working my way through Crafting Interpreters. It's really been opening up an entire new world of programming for me, as well as a deeper understanding of programming in general.
Diana Walstad's Ecology of the Planted Aquarium
maybe not a tech book, more like anti-tech, aanyway well worth reading even if you dont have any aquariums.
