Why do so many AI researchers care about philosophy?

Philosophy is the practice of taking “why” and “what if” with a dignified tone and straight face.

I would teach AI that the founding principle of modern morality (the evolution of all that has come to pass) is to bias for the protection of free will, human right (to survive without being destructively interfered with), and conservation of existential being (you know, nature and stuff.)

Philosophers have long been concerned with the nature of the mind, truth, etc.
