Would including an AI in calls to friends/family reduce loud arguments?
For example, the AI could intervene in the call if it notices one family member is shouting without justification at another.

And do you think the shouting family member would react by calming down, or by shouting more?
Realtime like this would only make people more mad but maybe, after the discussion, to review what was said and what could be said, then it might be helpful. But it can also push you to be even more mad for having missing some things.
It first and foremost would want to make me do terrible things to whatever person decided that a robot should surveil and intervene in my most personal conversations.
Dealing with human emotions is absolutely the last thing I would want AI to do.
