Advice for Parents of an Autistic Child

Hello HN, I'm a parent of a 4 year-old daughter who was just diagnosed with autism. We've known for a while that something was different about her and have had her in speech and occupational therapy for about a year, but an official diagnosis has been overwhelming. She's a sweet, happy girl and she seems to be developing well, but I wanted to draw on HNs experiences with autism for advice on how to help give her the best life possible. What are things you wish you had known as a parent of an autistic child? What are things you wish your parents had known to help you with your own autism? All advice and thoughts greatly appreciated.
