Why are comments sorted to the bottom when their votes are higher?

I've noticed that my comments are frequently sorted to the bottom of threads. While I can't see others' vote counts, I know that mine are sometimes significantly higher (for example, other comments are grayed out, indicating zero or negative votes).Is this some form of shadow-banning or other suppression?@dang
