Thoughts on the difference between anonymous vs. not social media voting

Some platforms like Facebook, Instagram, to a limited extent Twitter will tell you the names of exactly who liked a particular post.

Other platforms, particularly ones with downvoting, like Reddit, HN, etc keep the voting anonymous.

My colleague thinks this has an impact on what content rises to the top, how it is perceived once it does, the long term evolution / Eternal September effect, etc on these platforms.

Wondering if anyone else has thoughts. Her first thought was that secret voting can allow agenda-driven forces to go operate in hidden ways. I’m sure there are pros and cons

I would like to have a reason-nymus downvoting where I can not get acknowledged about who did tat but at least to be acknowledged about why was I being downvoted/flagged.
