Which games did you find mentally/intellectually stimulating?

Popular titles that fit this description for me are Civilization V, Factorio, Portal (1 & 2). Recently I've been getting into Faster Than Light - initially this game seems very random and luck-based, but as you get into it you find out that with careful tactics and strategy you can to a large extent beat the randomness.
