Joplin https://joplinapp.org/

Pros: - markdown with a lot of extensions - full-text search across all notes - browser extension to clip a page into markdown (or full html) - vim mode - can open externally in vim - syncs into folder (with syncthing can even sync across devices while not connected to the internet)

Cons: - very bad, almost unusable android app - "proprietary" hashed markdown filenames instead of standard file layout

Text files in Markdown. Folder structure for "notebooks" and nested notebooks/sections. Syncthing for sync with my Android phone.

Vim with vim-markdown-preview on Desktop, and Markor on Android. Works fine for me.

Workflowy when it's simple and I need it synced to the cloud.

Obsidian when it's local and I need full markdown.
