Spouse treats you like a slave and how did it affect your career?

Title pretty much says it. I spend all my time at a job I hate or working on chores/projects at home, pay all the bills, and do more than 50% of the chores. I also spend at least 36 hours a week watching the kid (which means I can't do many of the projects or some of the chores). I get very little time to pursue hobbies, but my wife gets multiple hours per week to go do stuff and spends the equivalent of our mortgage payment each month on hobbies.

I don't feel very motivated nor happy. How have similar situations affected your careers?
