What’s Going on with Apple Design?

The icons are inconsistent and un-Apple; I&rsquo;m very surprised such designs ever got out to the public.

Looks like perhaps they're going to try to re-live their iMac G3 MacOS 10.1 days of bubbly colorful UI? Can't wait to get my translucent tangerine iPhone.
