What's missing in the news about Startups and Silicon Valley?

It seems to me a lot of startup news on popular sites are either press releases about funding, tech dirt, or news about venture funds. Is there anything you'd like to know about startups that is not usually covered?

Two things. First, maybe it's just a personal interest, but I'd like to see more coverage of socially responsible startups. For example, where are the startups that will help fight or prevent California's next wildfires? It's been said the pandemic revealed tech's shortcomings when it comes to natural and environmental disasters -- but is that true, or are those startups just not being covered? (And if they were covered, would that build momentum for more such startups?)

Along the same lines, Tim O'Reilly has complained we focus too much on Silicon Valley -- and the prevailing culture that surrounds it. But there are startups (and investors) outside the major tech hubs -- notably, O'Reilly's own angel investment company. Maybe if there were a more geographically-dispersed coverage of startups and investments, it might help non-Silicon Valley regions (and companies, and investment firms).
