Is anyone else having their Gmail app overtaken by Google Meet?

So suddenly half of the bottom menu bar in the Gmail app is overtaken by a gigantic, annoying and unnecessary link to use Google Meet.Whoever's the PM who sold management on the idea that this is what's gonna convince me to use Meet: I hope you get fired.

One extra button isn't exactly the app being "overtaken by Google Meet" now is it ?It uses the same amount of screen real estate as the Google Search bar on the main Android home screen, but you're not crying about how the home page is being "overtaken by Google Search" are you ?
