Basically as above.

Given that the butterfly keyboards are part of a replacement program already that extends to four years from purchase, should Apple be replacing failed keyboards with the new “Magic” keyboard.

Obviously the larger travel keys can’t fit in the same base - but as the repair requires replacing the entire top case anyway, would it be better if Apple re-housed the laptop in a thicker base to include the new keyboard.

It would mean less failures moving forward, but critically, MacBooks are significant long term investments for most buyers and it would mean that the laptops wouldn’t become worthless after four years (who would want to buy a laptop with a keyboard that probably will fail and can’t be replaced).
